General Manager – Consumer Fintech App
Location: Onsite in Brooklyn, NY (5 days/week)
Compensation: $250,000–$350,000 base + meaningful equity + performance upside
A fast-growing, venture-backed consumer tech company is hiring a General Manager to take ownership of one of its highest-performing apps. The product is already ranked among the top finance apps in the iOS store and helps users unlock and claim money they didn’t know they were owed.
This role functions as the CEO of the product within the larger organization — owning the roadmap, P&L, user experience, growth, and team. The right person will scale an early winner into a long-term, daily-use financial platform.
What You’ll Do
Product & Growth
- Define product vision, roadmap, and feature strategy
- Launch new product versions to drive engagement and retention
- Rapidly experiment across pricing, onboarding, funnels, paywalls, and features
- Build lifecycle, referral, and notification loops to drive repeat usage
P&L Ownership
- Fully accountable for revenue, margin, unit economics, and monthly performance
- Manage spend across user acquisition, product development, and CX
- Set financial targets and analyze performance to optimize profitability
Leadership & Team Building
- Build and lead a lean team across product, growth, and operations
- Collaborate with shared engineering, design, and data teams
- Create the culture, systems, and operating foundation to scale the business
Vision & Strategy
- Evolve a “found money” engine into a defensible personal finance platform
- Identify new monetization paths (subscription, interchange, affiliate, rewards, etc.)
- Make strategic bets and partner with leadership on capital allocation
Who We’re Looking For
- Proven experience taking a consumer product from 1 → 100
- Former PM, Head of Product, Head of Growth, or similar role in consumer fintech or consumer subscription apps
- Hands-on operator: can write copy, evaluate data, ship product, and run tests
- Deeply analytical, metrics-driven, and user-obsessed
- Comfortable making bold decisions in a fast-moving environment
- Able to scale from individual contributor → GM → business-line CEO
