Director of Growth

New York, NY

About the Company

Our client is a newly launched, science-first medical platform transforming dermatology through advanced diagnostics, physician-developed treatment protocols, and high-performance consumer technology. Backed by and built inside a scaled, publicly traded consumer brand platform with a portfolio of successful beauty and wellness brands, the company sits at the intersection of healthcare, beauty, AI, and performance marketing. The team is building a new model for medical care — one that combines clinical credibility, world-class creative, best-in-class technology, and rapid experimentation to deliver personalized treatment pathways at scale.

About the Role

This is not a traditional marketing role. The Director of Growth owns the full customer acquisition engine. You will report directly to the CEO and lead the growth team — assessing current structure, identifying where to hire, and building the engine for the next stage of growth. The ideal candidate is highly analytical, creatively sharp, and operationally excellent. You should be equally comfortable analyzing CPA trends, developing a creative testing roadmap, reviewing ad edits, evaluating team structure and hiring needs, and presenting strategic recommendations directly to the CEO.

What You'll Do

  • Own and scale the company's growth strategy across paid social and digital acquisition channels, including Meta, TikTok, YouTube, Snapchat, and emerging platforms.
  • Lead the end-to-end creative development process — from consumer insight and concept strategy to scripting, briefing, editing, launch, performance analysis, and iteration.
  • Develop and manage a rigorous creative testing system across product lines, treatment categories, funnel stages, offers, and messaging territories.
  • Translate performance data into clear creative and strategic decisions — not just reporting what happened, but identifying what to do next.
  • Build structured testing roadmaps across creative themes, hooks, formats, offers, landing pages, audiences, and product messaging.
  • Partner closely with media buying to evaluate performance, troubleshoot delivery issues, interpret platform dynamics, and make spend allocation recommendations.
  • Analyze performance across core KPIs including spend, CPA, CAC, CTR, CVR, CPM, bounce rate, funnel conversion, payback period, and contribution margin.
  • Develop and manage whitelisting, influencer, creator, and UGC strategies — identifying strong creator-fit content, structuring testing plans, and scaling learnings.
  • Manage internal creative teams, editors, designers, AI creative specialists, influencers, agencies, and production partners to generate high-volume, performance-driven creative.
  • Lead, assess, and develop the growth team — including evaluating current structure, identifying hiring needs, and raising the bar at every level.
  • Communicate performance insights, strategic recommendations, and team priorities directly to the CEO in a clear, executive-ready format.

What We're Looking For

  • 7+ years of experience in growth marketing, performance marketing, or customer acquisition — with at least 3 years in a senior leadership seat with real ownership over results.
  • Deep expertise in paid social, especially Meta and TikTok, with a strong understanding of creative testing, campaign structure, platform dynamics, and performance optimization.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to turn data into action — not just reporting what happened, but deciding what to do next.
  • Exceptional creative judgment, especially in short-form video, direct response, UGC, creator content, and social-native formats.
  • Experience building or managing high-volume creative testing systems.
  • A strong understanding of how creative, media buying, funnel performance, offer strategy, and landing page experience work together to drive acquisition.
  • Strong people leadership skills, including the ability to assess team structure, identify gaps, and hire and develop talent at multiple levels.
  • Excellent operational discipline — the ability to manage multiple workstreams at once without losing detail.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to synthesize complex performance trends into clear, decisive takeaways for senior leadership.
  • Experience in beauty, skincare, healthcare, telehealth, DTC, or subscriptions is a meaningful plus.
  • Experience with creators, influencers, whitelisted ads, UGC pipelines, AI creative tools, or performance creative agencies is a plus.

The Ideal Candidate

You are part strategist, part operator, part analyst, and part creative director. You know how to build a growth engine, not just manage campaigns. You test and discard quickly, and you're never attached to a concept that isn't earning its place. You can look at 50 ads and identify the three that matter — and explain why each one is or isn't working. You are comfortable in the details but not trapped by them. You can restructure a testing plan, coach a team member, and present the strategic takeaway to the CEO — all in the same day.

This is a rare opportunity to own the growth function for one of the company's most ambitious brand launches — with direct access to the CEO, real team leadership, and the resources of a scaled public company behind you. Growth here is not just media buying. It is creative strategy, consumer psychology, data science, product storytelling, operational excellence, and rapid experimentation — all working together. You will have genuine ownership, high visibility, and the chance to shape how a new medical platform grows from early traction into a category-defining brand.
