5 Podcasts You Should Be Listening To

It seems like every day, someone tells me about a new podcast. With so many to choose from (at last count, approximately 285,000), it’s hard to know which ones you should be listening to. I’m here to make it a little bit easier on you. Here are a few of my favorite podcasts for business, tech, and career advice — all shows you should download right now.
Startup
From NPR and This American Life veteran Alex Blumberg comes an inside look at what it’s really like to launch a business. The first season follows his own experience starting Gimlet Media, while the second season follows the story of two female entrepreneurs. The series is honest and transparent, covering things like pitching investors, choosing business partners, picking a name, and distributing equity. All fascinating topics, of course, but it’s really the stellar, sincere storytelling that makes the show so compelling.
The Full Ratchet
Nick Moran, co-founder and managing director of New Stack Ventures and Moral Capital Partners, offers an inside look at the world of startup investing and fundraising. On the podcast, he interviews investor experts on topics like how to select startups to fund, exit strategies, and everything in between.
The Accidental Creative
Hosted by author Todd Henry, “The Accidental Creative” offers practical advice for kickstarting innovation. During interviews with artists, authors, and leaders, Todd discusses a range of ideas, from how to define excellence and what to do when you’re not inspired to tips for getting your ideas heard and how to turn an idea into a sustainable business. It’s an insightful show that will really make you think.
Clockwise
This is your go-to tech podcast. Each episode offers a 30-minutes-or-less roundtable discussion with two hosts, Jason Snell and Dan Moren, and two industry experts as special guests. Topics range from new product launches to the future of artificial intelligence.
Back to Work
In “Back to Work,” Merlin Mann and Dan Benjamin discuss everything SFW: productivity, communication, management strategies, and more. No matter if you’re fresh out of college or an experienced manager, listen to this one to help take your career to the next level.
